Q. If a bat is classed as Pre - Prepared or Knocked in, is it ready to play with?
A. Not necessarily; this means that it is part prepared in the factory, including oiling, pressing under a roller, and some hand mallet knocking in. We, along with the bat manufacturer, still recommend some further knocking in with a bat mallet around the perimeter of the face of the bat and some gentle net practice against an older, softer cricket ball before full match use. You can read much more about this in our About Cricket Bats link in the footer.

Q. How do I tell if I want RH (right-handed player) or LH (left-handed player) equipment?
A. You need to know how the player stands when facing the bowler. If their left shoulder is facing the bowler, the player is classed as a right-hander and vice-versa.

Q. What are the different types of cricket bats?
A. Cricket bats come in various types based on format and player preference, including English Willow bats, Kashmir Willow bats, and bats designed specifically for T20 or Test cricket.

Q. What size cricket bat should I use?
A. The right size depends on your height and playing style. Junior bats range from size 1 to size 6, with Harrow being a transition size for taller juniors. Adult bats come in Short Handle (SH) and Long Handle (LH) sizes.

Q. How often should I replace my cricket bat?
A. With proper care, a high-quality bat lasts 2-5 years, depending on usage. Professional players may change bats more frequently due to higher impact.
