COLLINGWOOD RE-SIGNS WITH SLAZENGER
-
England ODI Captain Extends Sponsorship
Agreement–
Slazenger and England One Day
International Captain Paul Collingwood
have agreed to extend their successful
partnership for a further three years.
Slazenger will provide him with cricket
bats and a range of other cricket
equipment until December 2010.
The announcement comes in the run-up to
the forthcoming England tour of New
Zealand.
In 2007, Collingwood was named as one of
Wisden’s Cricketers of the Year, and he
was only the third English batsman ever
to score a double century in Australia
on last year’s tour. The 31 year-old is
vice-captain of Durham County Cricket
Club, and the all-rounder was rewarded
with a benefit year in 2007 for his
services to the club.
Delighted with the agreement,
Collingwood commented: “From my
experience of over 10 years with
Slazenger, I know they have a track
record of manufacturing the best quality
products. Continuing the agreement with
Slazenger cricket is fantastic for me,
and using their equipment can only
strengthen my own personal game. I look
forward to working with them in the
future.”
Robin Gibson, Slazenger’s Head of
Marketing said: “Paul has always been a
great ambassador for Slazenger cricket,
and the extension of his current
contract is testament to the success of
our partnership. We are obviously proud
that Paul has decided to continue using
Slazenger equipment for the next three
years, and we will continue to work with
him to develop our market-leading
Cricket product ranges.”
