On June 10, 1997, Providian Financial spun off from
Providian Corporation and became an independent company.
Providian has been a top ten bankcard issuer in the U.S. since
1998. The Company currently has more than 4,000 employees and
more than 10 million customer accounts.
The Logo
Providian's logo is based on the idea that credit is a
two-way relationship. The point where the logo's two
intersecting lines meet represents the point where our
employees meet our customers' needs. We depend on our
